Global Warming Research How Much Do We Really Know
Much of the global warming research that was done in the past has been looked at today as a “golden truth.” There has been a lot of research still underway to determine why global warming is taking place. Unfortunately most of this research is simply going
Defined Tag: Preventing Global Warming.
A major problem with preventing global warming is that the problem is a global concern, hence the name “global warming” as opposed to “North American warming” or “Pacific Rim warming.” As such, in order to effectively form a plan of preventing global warming would require an effort on the part of every country in the world to invest significant effort into the prevention. However, to try and prevent global warming is not on the agenda of many countries.
If the United States, Canada, and Mexico take a significant stand and take measures of conventional wisdom to prevent global warming, but the entirety of, say, Western Europe decides to ignore the issue and contribute to its proliferation, then there will simply be no preventing global warming. Therein lies the problem: significant populations and nations of the earth do not prioritize the issue of global warming (or even acknowledge it or ANY environmental concern) and any work done by nations opting to take measures preventing global warming will be undermined and rendered ineffectual. To draw an analogy, the vast majority of the world considers the “sport” of clubbing seals to death to be utterly barbaric. The origins of clubbing seals dates back to when seals were a legitimate source of food when food sources were rare, but, today, the killing of seals is done in Canada for no reason other than for sport and hobby and, quite simply, those who participate in this utterly refuse to listen to the outcries of the rest of the world over such brutality. Preventing global warming is not different in the sense that it will require a concentrated effort on all nations part and that will probably not happen.
For example, within days of conducting an atomic bomb test, North Korea has issued direct threats of using nuclear weapons attacks on South Korea, Japan, and the United States. Clearly a country, in addition to not being concerned about incinerating 100,000+ civilians, is also not concerned about plutonium fallout going into the atmosphere which will invariable kill hundreds of thousands of more people. So what do you think the odds are of North Korea helping with preventing global warming?
