Global Warming Statistics And Empirical Data
Global warming remains a controversial issue and at times has acted as an incredibly polarizing point of contention on the political landscape. However, the true area that an individual should look at when trying to formulate an opinion on the subject is t

Many have denied that global warming is a real threat to our atmosphere. Scientific evidence of global warming proves otherwise. Glaciers are slowly melting, average temperatures are higher than previous years, and insects spreading diseases threaten many areas.

The heat wave that many areas are experiencing is an undeniable piece of evidence of global warming. Temperatures have steadily increased throughout the years and unfortunately the correct precautions are not being taken to prevent them from growing even higher in the future. Global warming is partly believed to be caused by carbon dioxide and methane being released during the burning of fossil fuels. They also come from the vehicles that we drive, which is why there are environmentalist efforts in trying to switch to alternative fuel sources that will be safer for the environment. In direct relation, deforestation is preventing the absorption of carbon dioxide so that it just continues to build.

Glaciers have been experiencing rapid melting due to increased temperatures. Low-lying areas are beginning to fall victim to rising water levels, and other areas are being threatened to eventually be under water in the years to come. Another threat to the world is the spreading diseases that are beginning to increase. Evidence of global warming shows that mosquitoes, which breed and carry disease, are experiencing a much longer breeding season. Unpredictable atmospheric events, such as hurricanes, create standing water and damp areas, which are favorable conditions for insect breeding. Malaria is the main worry because these insects can carry this disease and spread it to humans easily. The West Nile Virus is also a big concern to areas that have seen an increase in the mosquito population.

Any educated person can see that the evidence of global warming is quite solid. Some of us are living in areas that are experiencing changes such as: warmer average temperatures, a prolonged warm season, a heat wave, threat of tropical storms or hurricanes, or the threat of flood due to melting glaciers. Although the evidence for global warming may not seem to be much of a threat for some, it should be considered that these conditions are expected to get worse as the preventative measures are not being taken seriously.
